Egyptian Faience Hedgehog Cosmetic Jar
Egyptian green faience Hedgehog shaped cosmetic jar for kohl eye make-up. Hedgehog body is light green with dark brown-black spots and eyes; Legs folded under body in repose; Cute large ears and slight smile. Late Period, ca 600 bce. Parallels to Greek aryballos cosmetic jar, ca 500 bce. Cute animal or flower shaped cosmetic jars like this were favored by ancient women. Size : 6 x 5 cm Found in Israel.
